The model relies on scientific research conducted within Switzerland wherever available. Where domestic data gaps existed, international sources were incorporated and adapted to Swiss conditions.

The calculation bases were coordinated with values proposed by the UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) to ensure consistency with international guidelines.

When detailed technical literature proved unavailable, expert estimations supplemented the data. The model undergoes continuous refinement based on current research findings.

Planned experimental work at Agroscope’s emission research facility in Tänikon will compare conventional Swiss cattle housing systems with optimized systems incorporating structural, technical, and organizational emission reduction measures.
