Model parameters include, on the one hand, input parameters such as the number of animals, the housing, details about manure stores and manure application. These are entered into the model by the user.
On the other hand, model parameters include technical parameters, which cannot be altered by the user. These are the variables incorporated in the model that affect ammonia emissions. They include the animal category, the N excretion per animal, the proportion of soluble nitrogen in the excretion, emission rates and correction factors.
